Switch Between Banking Modes In QuickBooks Desktop

Switch between banking modes

QuickBooks Desktop supports two bank feeds modes — Express and Classic mode. Choosing a bank feeds mode changes how transactions are displayed and handled.

Reminder:

Renaming rules created in Express Mode are NOT for sale in Classic Mode (Register Mode), and aliases created in Classic Mode are not available in Express Mode.
You are able to change between the two modes as often as required or as needed for troubleshooting.

To switch between Bank Feeds modes:

Make fully sure your QuickBooks Desktop is updated towards the latest release.
Ensure you come in single-user mode. (there must be no [Multi-User Mode] beside your organization name in the title bar.)
Through the QuickBooks Edit menu, select Preferences.
On the left pane, choose Checking then go directly to the Company Preferences tab.
Within the Bank Feeds section, choose the mode you wish to use:

In this mode, you utilize the Transactions List window to incorporate or match transactions. Renaming rules are created automatically and they are more flexible than with Classic Mode. To visit the downloaded transactions list, select Transaction List. Note that if there aren't any downloaded transactions ready for adding and matching, you will see Download Transactions instead.

This mode uses the account register to include or match transactions. Aliases match names exactly and you control when aliases are manufactured. To access the transactions and begin adding and matching them, select View.

Select OK.
